Raye's Story

Flunked out of Cal State Northridge after 2 semesters of not attending certain classes, not reading the books, and playing too much pool and billiards. Went into the Nave for about 2 years since I'd lost my Student Deferment and my draft number was bad -- I was going to be drafted into the Army if I didn't join. A no brainer. Stopped growing in many ways when both my parents were killed in a car accident on August 18. 1968 a few weeks after I had joined the Navy. Still 19 years old... Got out and realized I needed to finish my education. Went back to school and finally graduated from Sonoma State after moving to the SF B...Expand for more
ay Area (Marin). Took up tennis seriously in my early 20's. Played number 1 (at least my last semester) on Sonoma State's tennis team -- not a great achievement. Got my first real job as a "crack Cobol programmer" in a startup consulting company. Worked for that same company for 21 years. Now I work for Mindjet and really love it. Work right across the Embarcadero from Pier 19 in San Francisco. Check out MindManager with Mindjet Connect -- it's really a great product. Google Mindjet. I still play billiards (not pool) and compete nationally in tournaments around the country. Best finish: 11th place in the US Nationals.
