Rayman's Story
Life
After getting my Drama degree at UT, I took additional courses in Broadcasting and wound up on the staff at Radio/Television/KLRN as Staging and Lighting Director.
In 1963 it was time to move on, so I took a position sight unseen at the School of Journalism and Communications at the University of Florida in Gainesville. I was there for two years, four months, three weeks, one day and twenty-six minutes. Compared to Texas, Gainesville, Florida was economic and culture shock. (Utilities were triple those of Texas. I even had to pay sales tax on my apartment rent!)

ork of television stations to transmit instructional programs to public schools. I was accepted for a position in staging and lighting at their production center in atlanta and began work January, 1966. Eventually, I worked into producing and directing which earned for me three Georgia Area Emmys which are sittting on my mantel. I was able to retire in 1991.
On my occassional trips back to Austin I insist on getting my Night Hawk Top Chop Steak. So it is fun to meet up with C. A. Jennings and Jon Vickers at the Frisco on Burnet? Road for my fix. Of course, they are now just hamburger rather than their own corn-fed beef of ole, but good just the same.
