Raymond's Story

It is hard to believe that almost 60 years has passed since I last saw most of you---where did all the years go? Regarding my path in life, about fifty years ago I moved to Colorado settling in the Colorado Springs area. In the mid-70's I received an appointment to the bench where I worked as a judge for over 26 years. On the side I started investing in real estate and eventually set up my own corporation where I became successful beyond my wildest dreams. As some of you may recall I always had a love affair with collectable automobiles and am happy to report that this has continued throughout my life. Fifteen years ago I founded a charitable non-profit corporation in order to help improve the lives of others. Since its founding we have given out several million dollars in scholarships and also started senior a citizen center along with founding a full service medical center. I believe that when your life has been blessed that you have an obligation to give back to the community and to help others improve themselves. I always had an interest in history and as a result have written (I often regret not having paid closer attention in my english classes!) some books and numerous magazine articles. On several occasions...Expand for more
I have appeared on the History channel, both as a historian and as an actor. Along the way I became interested in genealogy and have done extensive research, on my family tree, both in this country and in Europe. Both of my parents continued to reside in Manhattan Beach and I often visited them several times each year before they passed on a few years ago. My father’s grand parents came to MB in 1910 after selling their Dodge City, Kansas ranch.. On my mother’s side, her grandparents came in the 1880's to visit their cousin, General William Rosecrans who had a home at the corner of Western Ave, before they eventually moved to Southern California. My parents always hoped that I would stay in MB, unfortunately I have chosen to break with family tradition. Growing up in the South Bay was a wonderful experience and I have many fond memories of my youth, however I love Colorado and have never regretted relocating here. Having said all this I must confess that I currently reside in Europe for about five months out of every year where I have a beach home along with a small real estate corporation. I hope that all my former classmates and friends are living lives which are both happy and fulfilling. May God bless all of you!
