Workplace
I have been with the US Forest Service 33 years now. I started my career as a Wildlife Biologist advancing to different levels of responsibility, worked as a Natural Resources Planner where I received an award along with my team from Vice President Al Gore for successful re-inventions of government, and for the same effort, we received an award for Innovations in Government from Harvard University, JFK School of Government. I moved on to be a District Ranger in two locations, in Canjilon, New Mexico and Chemult, Oregon. Four years ago I moved into my current job as Natural Resources Staff Officer on two National Forests and a National Grassland. So far I have worked in two US Forest Service Regions the Pacific Northwest (Oregon/Washington) and the Southwest Region (Arizona/New Mexico) having worked on 7 different National Forests and one National Grassland. My next career move will likely be a Forest Supervisor position or a Regional Director.
