Rebecca's Story

Life 2 pets. A tabby named Gigi, a pug named Cookie. 4 kids: David Drake 15, Rachel Bethany 13, Christiannah Elizabeth 9 and Jessikah Noelle 3 1/2. I work in project management for GE Transportation on Sound Transit's Light Rail project. I now work in a really nice office in Renton with a great group of people. I'd say my life is very normal and very nice. I wouldn't change a thing. I have a terrific husband who is also in technology but is also an excellent carpenter. We bought a house in "Mr. Roger's Neighborhood" that back's up against my daughter's school. I am either able to walk her to school each day or at least watch her get there. I'm a lot further along that I thought I'd be and thank God every day for that. I would say if you could meet me for the first time, today. You would meet a completely differnent person that you might have known when I was in school. I wanted to be an actress when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a great idea. As it turns out, they were right, I am a bit of a show off but I also have a very strong head for business.. My favorite way to relax is to work out so hard I nearly pass out. If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to believe in the project I'm supporting, work among bright minds, and have a clean desk to be able to deal with the day-to-day. My heroes always turned out to be less than I imagined except 1. Dr. Framzmeier, a true hero. So, I was born and raised in Stockton, CA. However my father was a CPA for large companies and loved to chase the brass ring. That led me from Stockton CA, to Turlock CA, back to Stockton CA, to Houston TX, to Spring TX, to Modesto CA, back to Stockton CA, back to Houston TX, to Spring TX, to Alexandria LA, back to Spring TX (where I started my career). I then moved to the Woodlands TX (a very, very nice area), to Alief TX (not so nice), back to Houston TX. Then chasing my career, I moved to N. Sioux City, SD where I worked at Gateway for a year. I moved from N. Sioux City to Redmond WA, to Edmonds WA, to Federal Way WA and I'm finally in Auburn WA, a...Expand for more
very nice suburbian area. The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Liesa Foletta, because I love and miss her very much. If I could improve my home, I'd remodel it from the ground up and add on a front porch. My dream home would be in the country.. I've learned that life is always hardest to understand when you're a kid but it doesn't get much easier when you're an adult. If I won $100 million, I'd give most of it to Uncle Sam, then spend the rest on paying my bills, paying for the kid's education and travel, travel, travel. My current age is 38. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be lame. I was so completely wong. My eldest friend is wonderful. We met in Jr. High where we were both a bit geeky. Neither one of us could be described as such these days. My first job was at FeFe's, where I got paid next to nothing to wash dogs. What I remember most about it is was when a friend of mine got her face bit! I wanted to kill the dog and the business owner for defending the pet owner. Father's death - you really learn who your friends are. It was at that point in time that I started growing up WAY too fast. I guess it prepared me dealing with life and the eventual end of it. I was sadly struck by how many of my parent's friends just couldn't deal and never spoke to us again. That was extremely hurtful for everyone. I can't forgive those people for hurting my mom and dad like that. In retrospect, I'm thankful that I learned that people are sometimes too shallow and hollow to understand or care about someone else in their time of need, they only wish to protect themselves against the pain. I can't forgive the pastor who hurt me so much during that time - thinking that his firm upper hand would somehow help shape me to be a better person, making better decisions. In retrospect, the only thing I learned is that I really can't and won't judge a situation until I'm knee-deep in it myself. I've learned how easy it is to detach from people like that in order to protect myself and my children from them. They mean nothing.
