I was only in one of the yearbooks. Because I somehow managed to be absent on picture day.. I think that was on purpose!! I played sax and bassoon in band, orchestra, marching band, pep band and in jazz band as the guitarist. Music is my life and it was back then. Having 3 or 4 music classes per day, got me out of many classes that I really didn't want to take.. Hilarious! I guess I really knew what I was doing back then.!! LOL! I had a nickname in band and orchestra, some friends called me, "Space Imp." LOL! I was gigging at Turtle Island Cafe' 2 nights per week and making $40 + tips. I was making about $80 to $100 a week at age 14, 15 , 16! Gotta admit, that was exciting and I enjoyed being able to work in my field at such a young age. I was diagnosed with Adult A.D.D., at age 50, which is not surprising really. A lot of artists and musicians have ultimately been diagnosed with a form of this. The good side is that I remain an optimist! I like to do things for my friends and family. I want everyone to smile and be happy almost to a fault. The downside is that it is very hard to focus on practical things sometimes but music is where I excel and hyper-focus. Nothing wrong with that! I didn't stay at NCHS the last year because I went to night school. I was working as a musician. I went to Harcourt elementary, Westlane Jr. High and North Central. I was even a member of Student Council the first year at NCHS! Mr. PAPPAS' History Class-Homeroom elected me!
