Life
Rebecca Reid (Farris)
Elementary: 5th Grade - 9th Grade: Alabama State Laboratory School - 1948-1951.
High School - St. Jude Educational Institute, Class of 1956, Montgomery, Alabama
College: Bennett College, Class of 1960
Graduate School: Atlanta University - Degree in Library Science - MSLS; University of Georgia - Ed.S. - School Library Science.
Former Employment: Langston University, Cedartown Public School System, Sylacauga Public School System and the Dougherty County School System.
Retired from the Dougherty County School System, July 2001. Rebecca is currently working with to grants - 1. NTNV2 - Kellogg Foundation Grant. 2. EPA CARE Grant. These grants were received by Albany, GA Tools for Change, Inc. of which Rebecca serves as Executive Director.
My Spouse
Met my spouse at Albany State College now (Albany State University). He came to use the college library where I was employeed. He taught Physics and Coached Football and Wrestling in the Dougherty County School until he retired in May 2001. Herman is formerly from Cedartown, GA
My Kids
Michael (Oldest) played for the Atlanta Falcoms after college. He is a graudate of the Universit...Expand for more
y of Wisconsin in Computer Science. He currently lives in the Atlanta, Georgia area and owns a Chinese Shaolin Center. Michael is married to Sherri, formerly from Chicago, Illinois. They have one daughter, Simone Rqcquel and one son, Desmond Michael.
Michele is a graduate of Emory University-Music & Spanish, University of Maryland-Music , and a Master's and Ph.D. in History from University of Texas-Austin.
She is currently on the faculty of Georgia State University, Atlanta, Georgia. On January 17, 2009 she was married to Jose R. Vazquez, Jr. in Puerto Rico.
Mabel is currently employed as a hearing impaired teacher in the Dougherty County School System, Albany, Georgia. She holds bachelor degrees from Huntingdon College, Montgomery, Alabama and Auburn in Montgomery, Alabama. Her degrees are in Dance and Health and Physical Education. She has a Master's degree from Kaplan University and is currently working on the Ph.D at the University of Phoenix. She is married to Eric Orr.
Maurice lives in Dallas, Texas. He played college football for Georgia Southern University. He majored in Medical Technology. He is employed at Parkland Hospital in Dallas, Texas.
