Rebecca Powell:

CLASS OF 1970
Southgate, MI

Rebecca's Story

After graduation, I tried for nursing school but the lack of HS Chemistry killed that idea. I had all the Biology classes I could take, but unfornatuatly was not enough. I got a full time job, my own apartment and struck out on my own. In 1971 I moved to Kentucky where I met and married my husband in 1972. We have 2 children. In 1986, thru my husband's job,we were transferred to North Carolina where we are today. (I tell people the older I get the further south I move!) I have taken several college courses, primarily in the medical field. For the past 20 years I have worked in a business office for both Emergency Medicine and Radiology. I specialize in ICD-9 & CPT coding and medical transcription. We live in NASCAR country -only 4 miles up the road...Expand for more
from Dale Earnhardt, INC. but racing still is not our favorite. The Kentucky Derby is more our style. That and the NFL. Even tho we now have an 'empty nest', my family's passion has always been the beach. We get together each year for a week at the Carolina Coastline. Our best times are having family and friends over to the house for a cookout and spending a day around the pool. My husbands passion is to take the boat out to the lake either in the spring or fall for some good Striper or Big Mouth Bass fishing --I go with him, but I like just floating around in the sunshine. I'm looking to re-connect with some friends that I have long, long ago lost contact with. A few from the class of '69 and several from '70. I would love to hear from you, anyime.
