Rebecca's Story
I was born in Gainesville Georgia, lived there until I was 13 years old, moved to Miami and attended Cutler Ridge Jr High and then Miami Palmetto High School, after graduation in 1965 I moved back to Georgia and worked at Southern Bell.
I moved back to Miami in 1968 and married Jim Bradley who also attended Palmetto High School, he graduated in 1967.
He worked for his Dad who owned Bradley Air Conditioning while attending Miami Dade Community College, I transferrd to Southern Bell in Homestead and worked as an operatior for Long Distance and also Information.
After his Dad passed away, Jim took over the business and he worked there until he sold the company to Service Masters, he continued to work for them until we retired in 2002, Jim was diagnosed with COPD in 2002 and that is when we sold our home in Miami and bought a Motorhome and started to travel, we made our home base in a little town in Dillard Ga. and bought property a...Expand for more
nd built a cabin, after Jim became to sick to travel, we sold our Motor home and settled in the cabin and continued to travel back and forth to Florida. We have two daughters and five grandaughters, our oldest lives in Tampa and has three girls, McKenzie 10, Madison 8, & Emma 6. Our youngest lives in Marietta Ga. and has twin girls Jessica & Rebecca age 9.
Jim was very active and loved traveling in the Motor Home, he also loved his Harley's, and boating, he was always taking road trips and enjoying seeing the good old USA. It was a very sad day when Jim lost his fight with COPD and passed away in Nov of 2010, he was a loving husband of 42 years and a devoted father to his girls and a wonderful grandfather to his 5 grandaughters who adored him, he had many friends and never met a stranger, always helping anyone he met. He was the most unselfish man I have ever known. Our girls, grandaughters, family and friends miss him so much.
