Rebecca's Story
Life
Hi, everybody. I graduated from LSU in 1976 with a BA in history and married very badly. I ended up raising 2 children by myself and now I live and work in Atlanta, Georgia as a Technical Trainer and Writer. I often think of my old schoolmates in Lubbock - those were some great years.
Both of my kids still live with me along with my mini schnauzer Ivan and my two cats. Just bought a nice little house on a wooded, half-acre lot, so life is good.
School
My biggest crush in school was Bobby Moore. I had a thing for Bobby from the time I was in grade school at Parsons Elementary. He was a beautiful, charismatic young man with a wonderful sense of humor.
Honestly, I don't recall a single teacher at Monterrey as being particularly inspiring, but I do remember...Expand for more
some of the really bad ones. My homeroom teacher every year was the wall-eyed Mr. Rickey, who used to yell at me for talking but then you couldn't tell who he was looking at!
Some of my craziest memories are of sneaking into the drive-in theater with about 8 people lying down under blankets in Rene Clemon's VW van. She had no compunction about just driving up and paying for herself as if she were going to the drive-in alone. Jill Little, my friend for many years, was always a great companion and I often wonder what ever happened to her. Lots of good times at the Char-King on Quaker Ave - that was the hook-up place! I also remember sneaking into the freak tent at the fair with Cindy Rink - we were immediately assailed by 5 or 6 really MAD freaks and bailed out of there.
