Rebecca's Story
My hero is my son. On April 25th , 2003 ,Chris was involved in a head on collision. He was in a coma for 22 1/2 days. He moved from UK Hospital ( after 30 days ) to Cardinal Hill for 7 weeks , then eventually to a Rehab Center 3hrs from home for 3 months. Chris suffered a TBI ( Brain Injury) , he had to learn to walk , talk and live all over again. He was at the begining of his life. He was to have graduated Mercer in May of that yr. again 17 yrs later , I walked across the Mercer County graduation stage to get the diploma that my son worked so hard for. He has never given up and worked hard to regain the ability to live again. So , here we are 5 yrs later and he is working full time at TMI,earning a good living ( but then again what kid wouldn't if they could still live at home). I am so proud of him , I am not sure I would have had the strength at 18 to start all over again. Love you bubby !!!
