Rebecca's Story
Life
I am a full time mother with three kids, Addie (6), Ellie (4) and Will (6 months). I love my job and I love my life! Ok, so some days when the kids are all screaming I don't so much love my life. But once they are all in bed and I have a Margarita in my hands, all is good! I enjoy being able to volunteer at my daughters schools and being around for all the everyday stuff. In my little bit of free time, I enjoy gardening, sewing, and cooking/baking. I also enjoy going for walks and runs with my lab mix dog. Two years ago, in 2005 I ran the Madison Marathon and it was an amazing experience. Last year I was pregnant and this year has been crazy with the new baby, but I plan to run it again in 2008. I always hated running, I can't believe ...Expand for more
it is something I do almost every day now! We are getting another puppy, so now I will have two reasons to get out of bed and out running at 5:45 am!
College
I loved the city of Madison from the first day of school freshman year. I loved it so much that I spent 4 years getting my B.S. in Genetics and then another 5 years at Madison getting my Ph.D. in Oncology, and I still live here. Three weeks after I defended my doctoral thesis my first daughter was born and I have been a stay at home Mom ever since. I now have two daughters and one son. College at UW-Madison was great, a life experience, and I loved studying genetics and oncology and someday I may use it again. Right now, I can't imagine having a better job than being a full time Mom.
