Rebecca's Story
Let's see; I'm now a Published Poet, both Nationally and Internationally; knock me over with a feather! My scribbles??? You can read them at Poetry dot com, in the search box put in Rebecca Barclay and it'll take you to my poems. I'm all the ones under my own name, including rsb, just not the "lynn" Barclay, ha ha!!. I must have a dozen poems there. I also cook and bake from scratch, I'm trying to learn bread making; not easy. I garden in containers, Succulents, in all their many & varied forms; check out GoSucculent, dotcom, for really cool photo's. I've retired from American Airlines, as a reservation agent, Intl. Desk, so I traveled all over, of course. Favorite place? THAILAND, then MALAYSIA, SINGAPORE, HK, LONDON, IRELAND, BRAZIL, BAHAMAS, MEXICO, CANADA, Hawaii(not so much) BEST WISHES TO ALL AND HAPPY LANDINGS, REBECCA
I always wanted to be a cool chick when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a silly idea. As it turns out, they were wrong, I am, and it's toally cool! I manage it by being a caring, loyal, loving person who cares about others and has patience & serenity, thanks be to GOD! Therefore, forgiveness comes easily to me, although, as usual, tis a bit harder to forgive oneself, still tis doable!.
I still practice HATHA YOGA, take long walks and want to start swimming again!
My Father has always been MY HERO! In that, I'm very lucky!! He loved my Mom and me so much that he stood by us through thick and thin. I didn't understand when I was a child. But when the time came to put away childish things, including resenments & emotions, I realized what I just said was so VERY TRUE ie: Daddy & Mommy LOVED EACH OTHER LIKE NO ONE ELSE I"VE EVER KNOWN! Nothing, excepting Death would've seperated them, and unfortunately, that's exactly what happened, Mommy passed away around the Fall of 1972! My Father lasted until Feb. 2002! OUCH! I miss them both, but especially my DADDY, he was everyone's hero! An AF Pilot - LT/COL, then after a few years after retiring from USAF He landed job at the 911 center!***Now there's a stressfull job! amilys for his warmth and professioalism(sp) sorry; also from him fellow workers, they all wanted to BE HIM!! I KID YOU NOT! Ask anyone, like CeCe who have met him and they'll tell you what a great and warm, friendly and loving, welcoming, non-judgmental!!!I've had so many people tell me stories about him at all different ages, that I've been completely amazed! I had tunnel vision, because he was/is after all MY Dad! MAY GOD REST BOTH THEIR SOULS, I BELIEVE THEY'RE RE-UNITED IN HEAVEN EVEN AS WE SPEAK!! GOD BLESS YOU ALL, AS WELL!
The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is George Williams, because we had such good times being just friends and I miss him.
I'm a Miami Dolphins FAN from the days of Dan Marino and Ova Von Schauman as the KICKER!!! w/Don Schula as the COACH! I LOVE CATS! I miss by Abyssian, the ancient guardians of the Pharohs of Egypt?? His name was BOGIE! I don't like reality TV shows, at all, thank you! I don't think I have any Obsessions, thank you again!
That no matter how hard you try, how much you love them or what you teach them, when they become teenagers, your life will become a living HELL!! Thanks a bunch Ar**l
If I won $100 million, I'd give $35% of it to The Nature Conservancy, then spend the rest on Travel, Retirement Nest Egg and FUN.
My current age is 57. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be so OLD, like near dead, maybe. I was so completely wrong, I can be as young as I feel, as long as I eat right, exercise, USE SUNBLOCK(!) AND KEEP A GOOD ATTITUDE TOWARDS LIVE AND ALL THE PEOPLE AROUND ME!.
Retired from American Airlines, my DREAM JOB, but on SS Disability and still happy as can be, because I have LOVE in my life, through my MAN, and MY FRIENDS who continue to make me feel valuable! Life is what you make it= tis the same amount of water weather you consider the glass half empty or half full!?! I'm a half full gal and always have been. I BELIEVE IN COUTING MY BLESSINGS, & DOING AWAY W/WORRY All worry does is stress you out and stress is both an aging and a killer
My best friend would tell you I'm loyal & down to earth, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as Friendly.
