My abbreviated c.v.:
BA UC Berkeley 1994
MA Stanford University 1997
Ph.D. Duke University 2005
Visiting Assistant Professor of English
Favorite music: Led Zeppelin & Pink Floyd
TV shows: Jason and I love All Creatures Great and Small and The Tudors! Robert Hardy equals sheer awesomeness.
I grew up in Belmont Shore California and I graduated from Long Beach Poly High School (the PACE program) in 1990. In high school I loved music. I seriously entertained the idea of majoring in music and pursuing a professional classical singing career. But literature, particularly medieval and Renaissance, won out.
In 1994 I graduated from Cal with a degree in English and I went on to earn an MA from Stanford University in English and then a Ph.D. from Duke University in English (2005). My dissertation focused on medieval literature.
I have been teaching at a small liberal arts college in the midwest but I am on medical leave now as I was diagnosed with a rare kind of spinal tumor in the spring of 2008. This has been tough but we...Expand for more
are getting through it. My husband Jason Fuller is also registered on this site. He is a professor in the Religious Studies department of the same college where I used to teach. He specializes in South Asian religions (Hinduism and Buddhism). Before I became ill we traveled frequently to England, Scotland, and Wales and enjoyed the academic life.
We are living in Indiana. I am working on staying well and I am taking time to value our life together. We have two cats, elderly gentlemen. One of them, a sable burmese named Selden, came from the San Francisco SPCA in 1995. He is now a grumpy old man and he is very loud & cantankerous. The other is a pathologically shy flame-point rescue Siamese named after Aleister Crowley. We adopted Mr. Crowley in 2005. Both cats have issues and are a little bit crazy, which makes them even more fun. The Siamese seems to love Jimmy Page.
We love Pink Floyd, independent film, classic rock, early 80s new wave, Indian food, and ghost stories.
It will be nice to hear from people and catch up!
