my family and perhaps do some volunteering in my community. People who know me well think that I have a great sense of humor (wit, not practical jokes and such). I am unimpressed with wealth or social station. I judge too quickly, but am also quick to revise my judgment. Few things make me sadder than self-righteousness and an inability to forgive. Although I have a conservative lifestyle, my political leanings are more moderate, if not a tad liberal. I usually vote with the Democrats, but my real political philosophy is to respect the political viewpoints of others. I am weary of those who question the intelligence, patriotism, and salvation of those who hold different opinions on social and political issues. I am a Christian, full of gratitude for what God, through Jesus, has done for me. I am a member of a Southern Baptist church, and I suspect that is primarily because my parents raised me in a Baptist church. Although I no longer agree with most Baptists socially and politically, I love the church and defend it the way I would love and defend an eccentric aunt who misrepresents herself to those outside the family. It breaks my heart that the right-wing political agenda has taken the place of traditional missions in most congregations. Must we always be on a witch hunt? However, I belonged to another Christian denomination from 1970 to 1980. When life situations necessitated finding a new church, I knew that I wanted to return to the Baptist church, where children are taught scripture.".
