Regina's Story
Life
Am currently married with five children and 1 grandchild. Work as a preschool teacher for Special Ed children. Have three cats. Am hoping to get a mastiff and name him Zeus. Move to new home in Elk Grove since family is growing so fast. I am a grandma since April 2007. My two youngest children attended St. Mary's from kindergarden through fourth then I pulled them out because I tired of the politics at the school. Angel Nagel and Husband, Josh, is part of family as a godparents to one of my nephews. Father Arnold is part of family as a godfather to one of my nieces. Lost sister-in-law to cancer in 2004 after a four year battle. Lost another sister-in-law in 2007 when her own stepdaughter shot her. Siblings and I have given my parents fifteen grandchildren - they range from 20 years old to 2 year. Oldest grandson is going into the military. So that makes my mother a great grandmother before she was even 63. My dad loves to have all the grandkids at the house at the same time, it is loud, busy, and very family filled. Oldest brother lives in , Kansas City, MO and retired from marines to become a regional manager for SEARS.
School
At St. Mary's my most favorite teacher was Mrs. Kummer. She ruled with an iron hand but ...Expand for more
had a heart of gold. I could not stand Mr. Rink he was a drunk and after leaving St. M's he showed up at my H.S. over the years as someone to be through off for being drunk and disturbing the students. (An all girls school and a dirty old man is not a good mix)
At Bishop Manogue my favorite teachers was Mrs. Morano and Mrs. Bachelor. They allow students to think and did not want you to regurgitate what they had said or read from a book. Mr. Desmond was the worst teacher. He told his class on more than one occasion that girls were useless and stupid. A great place to teacher Mr. Desmond at an all girls school.
Workplace
I started off just doing a job with kids, then I discovered I liked working with Sped Ed children. Now it is a career. I love working with a challenge. I love seeing the spark when a child as been working on something and they now get it. They did it themselves and I was there to see them understand it. It is a great job. You know how people say they would leave their job in a heart beat if they won the lottery. I won't, I would just use the money to buy better materials and equipment for my class. I would spoil my students rotten with new stuff and go to ever seminar there was for improving my classroom.
