Well I spent a couple of years after high school working in the Dallas area before coming to the realization that I wanted more out of life. So I enlisted in the Navy's advanced electronics program for six years (at 20 yo) to see the world and pay for an education. I believed that I would get out after my initial enlistment, but after getting married (at 22) and having my son (at 26) We decided to reenlist one more time for the bonus money and an additional 4 years. I got out of the active Navy after 12 years, joined the reserves and served an additional 13 years in the reserves which I thoroughly enjoyed. I received some training in special ops and security stuff as a reservist, which made me an asset to the military after 9-11, so I was recalled back to active duty for awhile. I was medically retired from the military after 25 years of total service after suffering a cerebral aneurysm while jogging on a treadmill during a break at work.
