Renae's Story

Life I got a BA from San Jose State and then went on 6 months active duty in the army. I then married Lola Ecsi and went back to San Jose State and got my MA and teaching certificate. I taught for 36 years,six at Placer High in CA, 17 in Canada, and 13 at Siuslaw in Oregon, retiring in June 2001. I finished my last 14 years as a chemistry teacher. 36 years wasn't enough so I subbed quite a bit for the next 4 years in Myrtle Point, Oregon where we bought a home and property after retiring. I finally retired for good in June 2005. We have two children and had our our first grandchild in October. His photo is with me on the photo page. Since retiring, I have gotten very involved in woodworking, turning bowls on a lathe, making cabinets and even a rocking chair for my daughter-in-law. I would love to hear...Expand for more
from former classmates or students. We just passed the six month anniversary of the death of my daughter-in-law from cancer. My grandson is a little over two and a half years old now. My son hired a nanny to take care of him during the day and it is working out well. I mostly make things for my grandson in my workshop. I've made him an oak table and set of chairs, several trucks, an airplane, and even a wooden train set compatable with Thomas and Friends. His other grandfather and I made him a play structure for his back yard. I also made a sand box with a folding lid to keep the cats out! I am currently building him a bed that looks like a race car. We miss his mom very much and are so grateful she gave our son and ourselves such a wonderful little boy. I will put some more photos of him on the page.
