ReNae's Story

Life I though I would share my story. As you all probably did know and forgot is that I was given up a birth. Carl and Ann Shuller adopted me and I lived a full life as an only child. Finally after a lot of sole searching I decided to find my biological family and did 3 and a half years ago. As it turned out my birth mother married my birth father 15 months after giving me up. I was reunited with all of them April of 2003 and I now have 5 full siblings. 1 brother and 4 sisters. My birth mother had passed away in 1995 so I did not get to meet her. They are all just as short as I am. It was the most spectacular day of my life to meet my birth family and realize the similarities was totally overwhelming. It has been a great trip and I am close to all of them as they all live right in the Minneapolis area except for 1 sister that lives in Chicago. My father was one of 14 children so I have lots of Aunts and Uncles and I am told about 90 first cousins. They have become my family and I cherish each day of it. Even the dynamics of watching the siblings bicker with one another. But the story is even bigger than that. In December of 2002 I also found my son, Brad, which I am sure you all probably in the back if your minds remember happening in January of 1968. I was forced to give him up and we found him living in St. Cloud. By the way I live in Lakeville, MN. which is a southern suburb on Minneapolis. Anyway, we met Brad and his wife and all of a sudden I became an instant grandmother of 2 little girls. W...Expand for more
OW. After finding Brad I knew I could handle finding my birth family whether it was good or bad. So, now I have my whole birth family, unfortunately I only got three years with my birth father as he passed away this June. It is nice to know my nationality (which is half Italian). My father was full Italian and just as short as I am. He was a great man and the whole family is true to form when you see an Italian flick on the tv, lots of emotion, hand gentures and lots of laughter. I finally feel like I fit in. Having found my son Brad, and my birth family has totally made my life complete. So, I thought it would be fun to share this story with anyone that wants to read it. I would love to write a book but I don't know how to write very well. There are so many unbelievable things that went on over the years that it would be fun to put it to paper. Not to mention that maybe it would convince other people in the same shoes that I lived to take a chance to try to complete their life as well. It truly does make a profound difference in daily life not to mention answering all the unanswered questions. There were a lot of parallels between my birth mother and I and what is even more unbelievable that there are a lot of parallels between my son Brad and myself as well. So, here is my story and I hope you enjoy it. It has been a wonderful prayer answered and I have no more holes in my heart. They are a closed up. Enjoy the story. ReNae Shuller (now Franklin).
