Renay's Story
Life
Hello Everyone! Here's what I've been up to:
After high school, I attended Bentley College and earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Behavioral sciences. Shortly thereafter, I began a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at Rivier College. During this time I gained experience working as a preschool teacher and a mental health worker in a residential psychiatric hospital. This was also a wild and fun-filled time for me as I enjoyed being with friends, old and new, and immersed myself in the local rock band scene.
Upon graduation I worked for several years as an outpatient Child Therapist, and although I was passionate about this career, I found that the salary was not enough to support my life goals. To that end, I took a position as a Montessori teacher and attained an additional Master's degree in Early Childhood Education. During this time I was a "Big Sister" (Big Brothers/Big Sisters) to a young girl with a troubling background but a great deal of potential.

ounseling component, so I pursued my Guidance Counselor's license and am currently an Elementary Guidance Counselor in a public school. Shortly after I began this position, I mourned the loss of my Grandma Emmanuele, who I admire and consider a role model to this day.
I hold an officer's position as the Massachuesetts School Counselor's Association Elementary Vice President. I enjoy my afterschool tutoring position working with preschool aged children with Autism. Additionally, I am back in school myself working on my Doctorate of Education in Educational Leadership through Nova Southeastern University.
On a personal note, I married the man of my dreams, Mark Bednarz, on July 17, 2004. We purchased our first home the year prior, and adopted 3 darling cats, Taz, Toonces, and Raven. We look forward to having children after our graduations in 2007. Although we are currently living in the Boston area, we are seeking to move to CT in the near future.
