Life Since I left Chicago in 1971 I've looked back a hundred times. None of those gazes were looking back on what I thought was home. They were just the past. I knew I wasn't going back. In 1982 Mom and Dad retired and built a house on my property here in Alabama. After that move of theirs I thought Chicago was completely in my past. Things change. Later I started flying for a living and was able to visit all over the US and Chicago included. I ended up flying to airports around Chicago that I didn't even know exsisted when I lived there. One time I even flew Mrs Ryan, the governors wife along with the govenors wife of Alabama into Meigs airport there on the lake. Then in 1999 my son, his wife and two of my grand kids moved to the Chicago area to attend medical school. Seems I ended coming back so many times that it makes you wonder about how your destiny involves no input from the person living it. Anyway Chicago is in the past again.
