Rene's Story
Life
Since graduation from high school, life for me has had its high and low points. I suppose it is the same for everyone else. I joined the U.S. Army shortly after high school and to this day I would have to say it was the best thing I ever did. I am now 39 years old and healthy as a horse! I'm about 181lbs and pretty physically fit, not buff or anything like that just toned I would have to say. I am now sporting that bald look which I think is pretty cool! I have been in the military for 20 years total service and will be eligible for retirement in less than three years. I currently have an associates degree and I'm also working towards a bachelors. I have a wonderful wife and two beautiful little girls!!!
School
What I've learned from school was that alot of people take education for granted and decide to "hold off on it" until a later time for no good reason what so ...Expand for more
ever!
College
All I can say is if you haven't done it Go do it, no excuses!!!!
Workplace
If you have people who depend on you, regardless of age, and you're too lazy to get a job then shame on you!
Military
My military history is just like anyone elses, positive and negative. However I've learned to make the best of it throughout the years. I've been in for 18.5yrs active duty, 21 total with reserve time. I've traveled all over the world, seen all kinds of crazy things and walked down the streets of Baghdad. I even have frequent flyer mileage on a Blackhawk helicopter!! I've seen some beautiful places that this world has to offer and I've also seen some places that make you appreciate having the little things in life. i.e. clothes, shoes and 50 cents for a coke. I'm a Warrant Officer with 1 and a half years left to decide what is it that I want to do after the military.
