The year after Northwestern, I went to DeVry Tech school in Chicago, with Glenn Moore. That was a super fun experience, but lots of hard work as well. If you recall, Glenn's father was a Baptist Minister, and consequenty, we attended a small church there in Chicago, where I became a born again Christian. That made a big difference in the direction of my life! You may recall that I was a very fun loving and quite self centered guy, and maybe a bit on the wild side.....Maybe not so much on second thought. Well, I like to think that from that point in my life to now, is quite different than it would have been without having Christ in my life. While there, a new friend talked me into joining the Navy on the buddy program, and letting them foot the bill for our education. My buddy backed out and I went through with it. I joined for six years in the Advanced Electronics Program. I made two cruises on the Kitty Hawk to the West Pacific. Though I was in the Navy, I was an "airdale". Stationed in the middle of the desert in California when not on cruises. At the end of my first six year enlistment, I extended for recruiting duty and came back to Ann Arbor Michigan. That made a total of almost eight years in the Navy. Just as I was getting out I met Renee in Redford, MI. at Dunning Park Chapel. We were married in October of 81.
