Renee's Story
After graduating from Hollins College (in Roanoke), I returned home to Mechanicsville for a year or so while I worked in an adolescent group home.
Then I moved to Richmond. I had fun, tiny apartments in Church Hill and the Museum District. I found a Then I got a wonderful job at a nonprofit organization, got married, and got a house in Woodland Heights in south Richmond. My husband and I had a son, who was -- and is -- the best of both of us.
Years have passed. I'm now divorced, and thankful my ex and I are friends and supportive co-parent...Expand for more

I'm still love to read. I also enjoy gardening and spending time with family and friends. I stay in touch with some of my old friends from high school as well as college.
And my great siblings are well and are a special part of my life. Leisa and her husband live in Salem, and John and his family live near Culpeper. We have sadly now lost both parents, and the family home in Battlefield Farms was sold in 2014.
I have wonderful memories of growing up in Mechanicsville. I look forward to saying hello at our next reunion.
