Renee's Story

Hi everyone. Here's a little run down on what I've been up to since leaving JUHS. Right after graduating I began classes at Cal Poly Pomona. I lived in the dorms there and took my general ed classes. A little more than two years passed while I tried to decide what I wanted to be when I grew up. Finally, I chose Interior Design and in December of 1981 transfered to San Jose State University. SJSU had and still has one of the countries best interior design programs and I enjoyed it very much. I left school in 1985 and began working in the industry. I spent the next 8 years living and working in the Bay Area. That is where I met my now ex-husband. We married in 1989 and his 15 year old daughter came to live with us soon after. In the summer of 1993 we moved to Coos Bay, Oregon. In March of 94 my daughter was born. I loved Coos Bay but a little less rain would have been nice. In 1995 we moved again. This time back to my ex-husband's home town, New Orleans. That was fun for about 2 weeks. Great place to visit, not fit for people to live there though. Sometimes I think that Moth...Expand for more
er Nature has been trying to tell those folks a thing or two, they just don't want to listen. Things didn't turn out well. In the summer of 1997 I left New Orleans with my daughter and came back to Julian. We have been here since. Another generation being educated at JUHS. This makes 3. I have spent most of my time working "down the hill" but last June decided I had had enough and have gone to work up here. Not much money but alot more time to spend with my kid an my ugly pug dog. Not nearly as much stress especially with the commute getting worse all the time and the price of gas. So, things are pretty nice these days. Looking forward to what the next few years bring. My daughter will graduate in 2011. The funniest thing is that she is friends with the children of friends of mine. I now have pictures of her doing some of the same things I have pictures of myself doing with her friends parents and family. Kinda wierd but kinda nice and comforting at the same time. Not too many of us can say that these days. Well, that should do it for now. Hope to hear from some of you soon.
