Renee's Story

Workplace Ok, so my story was old, and time to update it. It is February 2008. Everyone knows by now that I am a Navy Corpsman veteran, I met my husband on a Marine base in Southern California. I got out of the Navy and have worked as a back office medical assistant since '93...taking time off to enjoy staying at home when my 2 daughters were little, exploring the home daycare business as well. After many years in Southern California and several deployments abroad, my husband and I moved to Ohio for a 3 year tour. We had a wonderful experience there, loved the 4 seasons and small town atmosphere. However, in May of 2007 we sold the house, packed up and the Marine Corps sent us to Okinawa, Japan. We have been here since August 2007...Expand for more
and have been loving every minute of it. I had gained a lot of weight in the harsh climate of Ohio, and have since lost 25 lbs and enjoy running. My kids (13 & 7) are loving being in a new culture, we have met many new Japanese friends, and love to visit the stores and other attractions. We are looking forward to visiting other far East countries like Singapore and Korea. I am so proud of my husband who has achieved the rank of Chief Warrant Officer 4, and we'll be retiring to the San Antonio area in 2 1/2 years. This December we celebrated our 15th Anniversary. I am not currently working but enjoy volunteering at the schools, church and Girl Scouts and other events as well as soaking up this wonderful culture. I am truly blessed!
