Renee's Story

Life Well, upon my last entry on classmates - I was complaining about leaving Okinawa, Japan and being stuck in Abilene, TX. The truth is....I still miss Okinawa VERY much; so many different things to do and great places to travel, so many different cultures to be exposed to and exciting things to learn. Not to mention, Okinawa is one of the BEST spots for scuba diving (I miss this the most). Who could blame me for griping about Abilene, Texas after leaving the paradise of Okinawa, right? Well, finally, I am out of Abilene, Texas. My husband retired from the USAF and we decided to make Tampa, Florida our new home. A lot of our friends/family were very surprised that we were relocating to a place where we didn't know anyone. ...Expand for more
However, I had zero reservations about this - I think life should be an adventure - so off to Tampa we went. We found a fabulous home and I was able to transfer to USSOCOM. I love it, because it reminds me of my days in Intel. I have to say though, Special Ops (operations) is it's own world and I'm still not use to it just yet. I was very lucky to be able to transfer my federal employment, but the cost of doing so is now a "Lovely" 1 hour commute from the suburbs to downtown Tampa. Oh well, I said I like adventure. Other than this - not too much more tell. Hopefully, with Tim being retired and no more deployments - we will be able to attend the next reunion and/or get-together. I would really like to see everyone soon!
