Reta's Story
After graduation moved to Odessa,Texas Attended Odessa College. Moved to Farmington, New Mexico attended Basin Beauty School and finished in at Lola’s School Of Beauty in Hobbs, New Mexico. Worked one year in Admiration Beauty Salon. married in 1962, moved to Gatesville, Texas, he was stationed at Ft. Hood, Texas. Moved to Odessa, Texas in 1964. Lived there for 12 years, during that time the highlight of my life was the birth of my son, the low was I divorced in 1968 a year after Carey’s birth. Started back to school at night to get a degree, also got My Cosmetology Instructors license. I married again and sadly we only had 8 years together, he was stung by a bee and died. I was blessed as he loved the Lord and I know he is in a better place. Another blessing I have a beautiful step-daughter that I consider my daughter. Art died in 1990, I retired in 2002 and in 2015 moved to Festus, Missouri, my son is Associate Pastor at Festus/Crystal City Baptist Church. Love it up here, Festus is very close to St. Louis so lots to see and do. Most of you do not remember me , I went the sixth and seventh grade there and the ninth grade and finally my Senior year. Very shy so probable did’t notice me. Not in Year hood, hope to unpack my Mom’s pictures I had done at a studio and post it. Now you know my history!
