Retha's Story
I married my high school sweetheart, Joe Gadus. October, 2010 we will have been married 37 years. We have lived in Porter, Texas for 32 years. We have two awesome children. We also have aour dog Freddy. He's a ten (10) year old pomeranian.
Our daughter, Elizabeth Marie Gadus-Cox is 24 years old. She has been married for 3 years to Danny Cox of Riverside, Texas. Beth graduated from Sam Houston State University in December, 2008 with a Bachelor of Science Degree. She majored in Elementary Edecation. She is now teaching at an elementary school in the area. Her husband Danny graduated from Sam Houston State University in December, 2006 with a degree in Business Marketing. He now works for AirLiquid. Beth and Danny had our first grandchild in March, 2010. A precious little girl named Addisyn Marie Cox. They live about 5 minutes from us. We love our son-in-law. We are very proud of them both.

ed on the staff of the Battalion for the last 2 years and will be on staff again next year. Joseph is active in the youth department at our church, North Park Baptist church. He has applied to work as a volunteer firefighter in Porter, Texas. He hopes to continue in fire service, EMT, Paramedic, ect. after he graduates from high school. He is also an active volunteer in Harris County Emergency Management. He did a tremendous amount of volunteer work during Hurricane Ike. He was as an assistant to a POD Manager and helped take care of logistics for supplies at the POD. We are very proud of Joseph and the person he is becoming.
Joe retired from the Houston Police Department in March, 2002. He was a sergant working in Kingwood when he retired.
I retired from Delta AirLines in May, 2008 after almost 20 years of service.
We love to spend time with our family, especially our new granddaughter. We also like to travel either in our travel trailer or flying. I still have my flight priviledges.
Joe and I are truly blessed.
