Rex's Story
Life
USMC from June '71-74.
Started studying Japanese after I joined the service, due to the influence of all my Japanese "friends" at Uni.
After discharge and studying my fingers to the bone to pass the entrance exam, entered the Tokyo University of Foreign Studies, one of the hardest schools to get into, in '76 graduating in '80. You'd a never guessed it from my grades at UNI!
For the past 20 years I've worked for trading companies on both sides of the
Pacific, and am now working on a contract basis in the telecommunication industry.

I also work as an actor & narrator in Japan, having appeared in more than
20 TV variety programs, 3 dramas, 3 commercials and several promo videos.
This is the area I am concentrating on most these days.
I have lived in Japan now for over 15 years all together and will probably end up making it my home.
When not working, I'm usually ridin' my Harley all over Japan, playing bluegrass banjo, and continually polishing up my language skills, all of which never cease to fascinate me.
The food here is great and everyone ought to come at least once.
