I married Todd in 1999 and have 1 daughter, Cassy (01). I live in Verona, Wisconsin which is a suburb of Madison where I teach. I visit PC every winter break. I'd love to see everyone again! How about a band reunion 1984-1988 grads?...December of 2004? Let me know if you are interested!
I'm the General Music Teacher at Thoreau Elementary School. I have a Bachelor and Master of Music Degree from the University of Illinois.
In 1997, I released my first CD of original compositions for piano entitled ÂWithin The Garden. I have been an active performer throughout my career as an accompanist, soloist, and church organist/pianist. My instrumental background includes the following: piano, organ, harp, guitar, flute, bassoon, saxophone, cornet, and an African instrument called the mbira.
School
It's been 17 years since I graduated...so this is what I remember.
I went to school at Port Charlotte HS. My freshman year...we had no senior class yet...it was a new school. Band was by far my favorite place to be. Lunch time was great for socializing too. I had the nicknames ET, ziggy and airhead in school. I'm not sure why the airhead part since I got good grades...I think a guy gave it to me because I lacked street smarts.
I remember lots of band trips. Bus trips sitting close to my boyfriend...and talking with friends. I was a freshman football cheerleader and thought I was so fat all through HS. Now...I look back and I was quite normal.
I remember the Ediscon LIght parades, marching competitions, proms, dances, drivers ed, French class, the crush I had on a history teacher one year.
I loved the band trip to Georgia. That was a huge highlight! I met a guy at six flags who I dated for several months after!

always hitting on me. I always had a crush on Paul.
I remember going to prom my freshman year with Rob Svirskas...and him jumping out in front of a car and going on one knee and jokingly asking me to marry him. I remember our awesome drum line, Mr. Schaer (I have his email by the way!!), I remember falling off the podium at band practice, bertha...and her 3 kids, marching in the muck, the parking lot, 8 to 5, all the football games, drum major practice and tryouts...thanks Blake!!
I still have the marching audio tapes I used to practice...I wish my parents had video taped the band...I do have some pictures though! We had some wild times in HS and I wouldn't trade it for anything.
I was so bummed to have missed the 10 year reunion...but I'm looking forward to 20! How about a band reunion in December 2004???? classes 84-88???
College
I attended the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign from 1986-1991. I was a piano pedagogy major at first, then in my sophomore year I changed it to music theory (to become a college prof in theory). I graduated in December of 1989 and went directly into the Master of Music Theory program with a grad assistantship teaching theory and ear training. I graduated with my master's in 1991.
I lived in the dorms my 1st year, a co-op house for a summer, a co-ed house for most of one year (my roomate was a nut case and I moved into the dorms (illegally) for a couple of months at the end of the year. Then I moved into apartments. I got engaged in college...but called it off after a 3 week european tour with the Men's glee Club. Me and 42 guys in Europe for 3 weeks...I was the accompanist. Needless to say...they took my mind off of my fiance and made me realize that he was making me into something I wasn't ready to be. I started an MBA program after grad school but fell into a 1-8 teaching job at an catholic grade school.
