Rhonda's Story

Hi there! Well I have enjoyed my yearly summer trips back to Glasgow and Fort Peck to see all the wonderful people who have made Glasgow their home. I left in 1981 and then attended MSU until 1986. I lived in Seattle and got my first nursing job at Harborview Medical Center working as trauma ICU nurse. My college boyfriend (Randy), now husband--worked in Seattle at Boeing as a civil engineer. We had our first son, Stephen in 1989. After both us worked crazy hours in our new careers, in 1991 we sold the home and took leaves of absence and then drove (4 month long adventure) to Costa Rica. We had hoped to buy a Bed and Breakfast in Costa Rica and live there 1/2 of the year. We ended up coming back to Seattle 6 months later (I was then pregnant with Evan). We took up our old jobs and continued to travel with our 2 boys and took long distance bike trips --like we had prior to children. We moved to Issaquah Wa and enjoyed raising the boys there. In 1995 we moved to Liberty Lake Wa(15 miles east of Spokane Wa, Randy's hometown) and Randy took over some aspects of his father's commercial real estate. I decided to be a full time mom, after working part time in Seattle after Stephen was born. We have now been in Liberty Lake for 13 years and have had another son, Nathan. We continue to travel with the boys around the world. Most memorable was taking them to the Greece Olympics and traveling around Europe in a motorhome 3 summers ago. They are great kids and ...Expand for more
we never regret the extra work that traveling with children can be. Stephen is now a freshman at Point Loma in San Diego, Evan is a 9th grader in high school and Nathan is our baby in the 5th grade. I went back to work after 7 years off and love working with patients in a orthopedic setting downtown Spokane. Nursing is a wonderful profession and has always been a great field for me. I love to walk, ride bike and watch my boys play soccer, basketball, football, baseball. My home is always open to friends here in Liberty Lake. Randy and the boys all play with their friends in the Hoopfest tournaments here in Spokane in June and we love to do the Bloomsday Run in May. Camp Grinalds is the place to be during our great summers. I have great memories when I have attended the reunions at home. I feel I have only achieved what I have in my life from growing up in a great community and having wonderful parents, sibling and friends. Although my short term memory has gone to pot (where's my keys, my phone?!!!) my long term memory is loaded with amazing detail and I find myself laughing so much when my kids do crazy things that remind me of myself at that age. They are WAY better teenagers than I was and I give credit to their awesome father (ok i guess I'll take some credit...:) As my kids get older I share the funny stories of growing up in Glasgow and the freedoms that we had then that are unthinkable in this day and age. Have a great life! Your friend! RHONDA
