Rhonda's Story
After 32 years working for KCDHS I retired. I was the Assitant Program Director for the Kern Co. Department of Human Services in charge of specilized programs. I was an on site manager for the Kinship Center located on Wilson Road, Bakersfield, Ca.
I'd been with the department since 1975, just taking off enough time to have two children.
I worked for a government agency and I can't really remember any other kind of job. I had a staff of 50 people directly under my supervison and the building houses 140+ people.
I spent most of my time in meetings making decisions and implementing programs. There was also the...Expand for more

I have two daughters. They have graduated from college (UC Davis and UCSB) Each have finished their masters. My oldest daughter obtained her credential and is teaching 2nd grade. My youngest has completed her 6 months of student teaching and is now a credentialed teacher looking for a full time job.
Just this week I learned that I will full fill another dream. My oldest daughter and her husband are expecting my first grandchild April 27, 2010.
Retirement has more than lived up to my expectations. I spend my days playing and doing what I want. No more agendas to follow. YIPEE!
