Rhonda's Story
Life
Although I left the Midland/Penetang area and completed my education in Toronto and lived and worked there for 10 years, I now live in Waverley, Ontario, on a hobby farm. I went to school at Seneca to become an Executive Secretary. This was merely a stepping stone as I changed careers and ended up in the investment business. I was always attracted to the money business mostly because I didn't have any and I definitely wanted some of it. I purposely got a job on Bay street so I could pursue my goals. I never looked back. I worked my way up to the position of Money Market Specialist & Senior Financial Consultant, CIBC World Martkets and made some good money but city life wasn't for me. I also find it much more rewarding to work with individuals than corporations. I love what I do and can't imagine doing anything else for a living. I am now a professional financial planner but wear many hats while on the job. I am divorced (best thing I ever did) and have a 23 year old daughter who is currently in University. I live common-law with the love of my life, Bill Weeks. ...Expand for more
Too bad I hadn't met him when I was young as it would have saved me a lot of trouble. I board horses in the summer months and enjoy the beautiful sunsets that living on a ridge with western exposure gives me. I am very active and work out regularly; I enjoy walking, biking, yoga, gardening, fishing, antiquing, garage sales, and spending time with friends and family. I sometimes curl and cross-country ski. I spend lots of time at the cottage in the summer months. Love barbequing and cold drinks on hot days. There is nothing quite like jumping off the dock into a lake. I own a condo in Toronto but rarely stay there as my daughter currently lives there while she goes to school. Lucky kid ( I mean young adult). I put in a lot of hours in at work as partner of my firm, but there is always time to relax. I plan it in; it's the only way it can happen because if there is one thing I know, if you don't plan for it, it's not going to happen. Life is far too short not to have some fun.
