Rhonda's Story

My gosh, I'm guessing if anyone remembers me, it would probably be from Railettes and Dance...Miss Drill Team Iowa (I dont know) I still dance, still teach every now and then. After high school I got married and had 2 children. A girl first, Mommy's little ballerina who started dance at age 3 and continued thru high school and choreographer for Carlisle High School, as she was a main standout in starting a Dance Team at CHS, as they had never had that option for their students. Then two years later, a boy...My little man. He started playing ice hockey at the ripe old age of 4...He fell in love with the sport and even tho he did play other sports, hockey was and continues to be "His sport of choice. Well as its turned out, my knight in shinning armour, was just a loser in aluminum foil, and our marriage ended after 18yrs..I know, why did it take me so long to figure out that I was just much to good for him. As a good friend once told me, don't be so hard on yourself for staying with him so long, she would never say I was stupid, we come up with "just naieve" during that time I went to school and began working through DM public schools with children with Autism...I absolutely loved it, and I've always worked at Merle Norman Cosmetics starting in 1981...wow thats like...never mind, its just a long time...I have the amazing privilege of watching two out of 3 of my grandchildren. They are two girls ages 3 yrs old and 6 months...I watch them full time while my daughter works... I have a third grandchild, a boy who turns ...Expand for more
1 on Fathers Day.(yeah) Between makeovers, Disney Princess gowns, and feather boas, Now I know why people have kids when they're young, by 5:00pm I'm wore out...but I'm down on knees thanking God everynight for those beautiful babies, they can make any bad day turn around with a drool filled kiss and hearing "I love you Mimi " and thinking, that phrase could cure the hardest of hearts. Anyway you can find me on facebook, although I'm not on everyday, I do try and catch up a couple times a week. In the meantime, I'm hoping all my friends and fellow classmates, who we swore we'd never lose touch with, but "life" always gets in the way, have had much happiness in their lives, that those oh so tiny lines are from laughing and not crying and that bit of gray in your hair came from checking something awesome off your bucket list and not from too much work and not enough play. There's one thing I want to leave you all with...and that I've learned is, that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel, and as I get older, I guess it's not unusual to remenice about the good ol' days but as I do, I hope that at all times I conducted myself in a manner that never left, not one of you, without good feelings about yourself, in who you are, what you do, and how you made me feel being my friend or just a locker neighbor. Each one of us plays a part in a way bigger story... Never stop modeling the change and the behavior you want to see in everyone else....
