Rich's Story
Life
Here's a quick autobio...after graduating from Montville High School I attended a quickie 8 month business school to learn computer programming. I then secured a job with Southern New England Telephone and stayed for 5 years. I entered US Navy, went nuke, and served on the Uss Benjamin Franklin (SSBN640) for nearly 4 years. After the Navy went to work at Connecticut Yankee (nuke plant in Haddam Neck, CT). 6 years later went to Millstone (nuke plant in Waterford, CT) and stayed for 6 more years. Wanderlust struck about that time and I decided to go contracting. I landed at Diablo Canyon (near San Luis Obispo, CA). Worked at San Onofre (near San Clemente), Indian Point (near Westchester County, NY) and then back to San Onofre. Having been a licensed nuke operator, I now train the control room operators at San Onofre (also known as SONGS).
I am married (wife #4 actually...although, only the first 3 have numbers...lol) and I have two daughters, who have lived with their mom for most of their lives, mostly in New Hampshire.
We love SoCal, and have taken full advantage of living in this area. In the past 2 years we have taken up scuba diving and sailing.

married now about 10 years, and are on the doorstep of buying our first home together. Que emocionante!
School
I attended Montville High School for 6 years. Yes, 6 long years, that included Jr. High. I most enjoyed Spanish classes and Band.
Workplace
I worked for 5 years as a computer operator at Southern New England Telephone Company in the early 70s. I then enlisted into the US Navy where I spent 6 years. I've been working in the commercial nuclear power industry for about 20 years now. I'm currently working as a training consultant at Indian Point Nuclear Station, 30 miles north of NYC. My civilian career has taken me from Connecticut Yankee to Millstone Point in Connecticut, to Diablo Canyon and San Onofre in California, Indian Point in New york, and back here at San Onofre.
Military
I signed up in 1977, went to boot camp in Orlando, MM A school in Great Lakes, Nuke school in Orlando, and prototype in Windsor, CT. I then went to the USS Benjamin Franklin in mid-1979. I was on board the Benny for about 3 1/2 years, including the overhaul in Kittery, ME from 1979 to 1981. I was discharged in 1983, and went to work at Connecticut Yankee Atomic Power Company.
