Richard's Story
After graduating from Latin, I went to Bentley College from 1964 to 1968 earning a degree in Accounting and Finance. I graduated from Bentley on a Sunday, and the next day, I received my greetings from Uncle Sam wanting my services in the Army. I married my current wife of 45 years, Marguerite (Maggie), while on Christmas leave before heading to Fort Richardson in Anchorage, Alaska. Finished up my two year hitch in the Army at Fort Devens in MA where I was reassigned after the death of my father. A at the end of 1971 as an Accounting Supervisor. In 1986, I was transferred to Buffalo, NY, to be a District Controller. In 1989, I was promoted to the Corporate Headquarters where I worked as a Financial Reporting and Planning Controller. Retired from UPS at the age of 55 at the end of 2001. Had some race horses that raced in Tampa and at Suffolk Downs, but did not find that to be a money maker. Have lived in Anchorage, Alaska, Somerville, Medford, Bellingham, Hopedale and Worcester, MA, East Amherst, NY, Atlanta, GA for 13 years, and Bradenton, FL since January, 2003. Still married to Maggie with three children, two girls and a boy, and four grandchildren.
