Richard's Story
Life
I like to travel,am an avid photographer, artist, bass trombonist, classical musician and
love to grow orchids. After obtaining degrees in zoology and fisheries biology, I found
myself photographing fresh water dolphin from a canoe on the Amazon River, tracking humpback and gray whales off the Farallon Is., hiking the sand dunes of Death Valley and the Sierra Nevada mts. of Northern Ca. I have ridden manta rays on Moorea, swam with sharks in Bora Bora, and photographed grizzlies and glaciers in Alaska. studying art in Paris, Florence, Venice, Rome, Athens, Berlin, and Amsterd...Expand for more
am led to additional degrees in art/photography. After 25 years
as a clinical laboratory scientist with the Sacramento Medical Foundation Blood Center, I am now retired and play bass trombone with the Sacramento Concert Band, Sacramento Symphonic winds, and the Calif. State Univ. Sacramento Symphonic Wind Ensemble. On April 13, 2004 I had the incredible musical experience of a lifetime performing with the California State University Symphonic Wind Ensemble on stage, in concert at Carnegie Hall!
