College
I went to Oklahoma Baptist University because it was safe and partially paid for. During the 4 years there I grew musically and was allowed to do whatever I wanted to do creatively -- writing, performing, and conducting original music as well as the traditional works. I also traveled the world on various musical tours for the school. By the time I graduated, I had fulfilled my philosophy teacher's warning to my parents: "be careful, he has a dangerous mind". After a brief trip to Europe and a summer working for Humpty Dumpty supermarkets I moved to Rochester, New York and recieved my Master's Degree from Eastman School of Music. I had a complete fellowship in opera coaching, played in the Eastman Wind Ensemble and Philharmonia, worked as church choir director, protested and avoided the draft and worked on my first film with friends. Whereas OBU was the philosophical awakening, Eastman was the social and political awakening.
