Richard's Story
Enid high class of 63 is the class i would have graduated with if my father had not been transferred during my sophomore year. my brother Paul Bates was a senior that tear and he was able to stay to graduate with his class . I felt more at ease with the people in Enid than any other place we were stationed and i wish that i had graduated with all of you . i was an awkward socially inept teen ager and for the first time in my life i started to feel like i had a place with people. i have little memory of individuals i knew there because of subs...Expand for more
equent Alcohol,and,Drug abuse and PTSD which has to an extant caused memory problems for me. what i do remember is the feeling that being with all of you was a time of relative peace and acceptance for me. It is probable that in my time there i offended and hurt some of you and at this late date all i can do is offer my sincere apologies to anyone that i may have harmed .i will always remember with gratitude my time there with all of you as a group even if i fail to remember individual people
