Richard's Story
I was born Richard Eliot Becker.
I was raised in the Santa Monica area of California (attended Santa Monica (briefly) and Olympic High schools; I did not graduate, but got my GED and then Bachelors degree much later). My best friends growing up were the Herrons, Greens and the guys that hung-out at Curt Walkup's Chevron on Ocean Park Blvd.
I entered the US Army in 1976 and was an MP until discharged in 1979.
Lived in Tacoma, Washington - got married, had a daughter and marriage ended during this time - re-joining the Army in 1981 as a CI Agent.
During my assignment in Hawaii, I changed my name to Richard Elliott Bryant, so my last name would match my father's.
I was assigned to the S2 of the 125th MP Battalion (Provisional), the Company armorer, then worked at the G2 Security office.
I then spent 5 years as an instructor and...Expand for more
operations NCO for the new DOD UAV Platoon at Fort Huachuca...before going Warrant Officer, getting married (again) and moving to Japan.
I ran the Camp Zama and Okinawa Field Offices before being transferred to Ft. Meade, MD in 1991.
I've been in the Glen Burnie area since then, but hope to retire - the sooner, the better - back to the Ft. Huachuca area and spend as much time as possible exploring the country in a Class A motorhome.
I am considered (rightfully so) an uber-geek. If it has anything to do with computers or technology...I'm there and/or into it.
Although I gave up all parental rights to my daughter, Leslie Ann Becker, so she could have a normal, two-parent family and life, I have always missed having a relationship with her and hope, some day, to meet her again...hopefully, with positive results for both of us.
