Richard's Story
Life
I graduated from Eagle Rock High School in 1962 and UCLA (B.S. Geology) in 1966. Have an MBA from Loyola and graduated from the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School in 1988.
I spent the first 25 years of my working life in Corporate America, beginning as a programmer, evolving to marketing and then to general management. My last corporate job was as a Division CEO for a Fortune 100 company. During that period, I lived in California, then Oregon, then Washington, D.C., then Florida, then Atlanta, Georgia, then back to Northern Virginia in 1976.
In 1988, after leaving my corporate job, I purchased a small medical transcription company in Northern Virginia. We were able to grow the company, take it public, and, in 1998, sell it to another competitor. At that time, we moved from Virgina to Sarasota, Florida and subsequently bought another home in the Dordogne Valley in Southwest France. We now live six months in Franc...Expand for more

I presently run a private equity investment firm with my partner. We acquire and operate mid-market private companies in the service and manufacturing industries. I am now doing exactly what I always wanted to do.
I was originally married in 1969 and have a daughter, 32, who lives in San Franciso with her husband (no grandkids yet!). and is the light of my life. I was divorced in 1994 and remarried in 1996 -got it right the second time, and I am the happiest guy around!!!
We are avid cyclists and frequently take bicycle and hiking tours in various places around the world. We are foodies and wine people (but not anal!) but do a lot of competitive running (half marathons and an occasional full one) and bicycling, so we offset the impact of the food and wine.
Generally, I am about as happy a guy as can be - I love my family, my life, my work and my homes. Doesn't get much better!!
