OK, after working with the City of L.A. as a Park Director, or Recreation Facility Director, for over 30 years, and coaching Baseball, football, and basketball at El Sereno Rec. Center since 1972as a volunteer, then city wide facilities as a full time employee of Rec.& Parks since 1980. I recruited and trained vollunteers to coach, officiate, & organize themselves to assist me conduct youth sports leagues. My goal was to train my staff, coaches in sportsmanship, and modify the negative behavior of difficult parents. I conducted clinics for coaches, separate meetings with parents to assist them embrace the concept of how to win with honor and lose with dignity. Being visable for them helped. By example I showed them how to be positive,supportive, and constructive authority figures. My coachs&parents were trained to be positive role models and not exhibit immature behavior.
