Joined the Navy in 1970, I was stationed in the Philippines for a couple of years which changed my life to this day. I also spent some time in Viet Nam which now enables me to have free health care thru the VA.Ater getting out of Navy found out my girlfriend in the Philippines was pregnant. I had a daughter born in Philippines in 1974,she was raised there I brought her to the states when she was 19. I moved to Hawaii in 1975,got married and had another daughter in 1982.My family and I moved back to Santa Cruz in 1982 and I ended up taking the job at the new Conference center Chaminade where I was the Executive Chef for 4 years. In 1987 I opened my own catering business which did well until the earthquake of October 17,1989 wreaked havoc on the local economy and forced me to sell. t forward to 2004 my wife and I bought an Adult Family Home and have been taking care of Disabled adults for the last 5 years. Well never a dull moment as I am going thru a divorce "again" I have been traveling a lot to South East Asia over the past 3 years and really love Thailand & the Philippines as both country's have very interesting and different cultures and people. I hope to be spending much more time traveling as more time becomes available to me since I wont be operating the Adult home anymore. FAST FORWARD TO SEPT 2010: I have been spending a lot of time in the Philippines over the last 2 years as I met a wonderful lady there. She lives in a small fishing village in a very remote area in the Philippines. I spend a lot of time fishing and just enjoying myself exploring different places while there. I brought my surfboard with me on my last trip and spent a lot of time in the water. I am going back at the end of Sept 2010 and taking a trip to Subic Bay which is where I was stationed while in the U.S. Navy, it will be interesting to see all of the changes that have happened over the years and hopefully I will be able to find some surfable waves while there.
