Richard's Story
Life
Though I'm currently back in Northern VA for a temporary work situation, my wife BJ (Brenda Jean) and I live in Maryville, TN, in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains. Since October of '77 following my graduation from Washington-Lee, I've been employed as a carpenter with various home remodeling contractors. I'm currently working full time with a Manassas based contractor, but am seriously considering branching out on my own doing small handyman type jobs by the hour. I'm also a part time independent sales representative for a company that manufactures natural health and wellness products, and another company that manufactures 10 String Davidic Harps. I believe the Lord's calling on my life is to become what He's termed a, "Photo Evangelist." I also very much enjoy both doing, as well as teaching Davidic style worship Dance. While back in Virginia, I'm attending a Messianic Jewish (Jews who believe in Jesus) congregation, and back home in Tennessee, I'm a member of a Friday evening worship gathering called, "The River,...Expand for more
"and am involved with several other fellowships on other days of the week. BJ and I have two cats, Jaspurr and Storm, who we adopted from the SPCA. Not long after moving to Tennessee, after Katrina devistated Louisiana, I was honored to participate in the relief efforts, and while driving to Folsom, LA where our assignment was, while passing through Jasper County, we encountered a major storm, which through we couldn't see them in the dark, spawned several tornadoes that evening! Needless to say, from that day forward, Jaspurr and Storm took on a new meaning!! We also sponsor a child (Cristian David Rodas Martinez) in Guatemala, and I hope to be able to visit him one day. There is more I could say, but I will have to save that for another time. Peace and Blessings! Richard W. Fischer, Jr. P.S. One of my favorite verses of Scripture is where Yeshua (Jesus name in Hebrew) says, "Come follow me, and I will make you Fishers of men."
