Life
Have been working nuclear powerplants as a machinist the last 14 years, until May 18/06 when I was injured in an accident. Now my right hand is handicapped and can no longer work as a tool & die maker/ machinist. I am very thankfull to still have my hand and not a hook, so am now readjusting and figuring out what I can do. I live with a wonderfull woman (attorney) and have never been so happy. My daughter by my second wife is a great girl and made me a grandpa with a baby boy. Over the last year when I was laid up, have been studying electric cars and now want to start building them as a business.On Dec 27th married my attorney girlfriend, am very happy. My 5th operation on my right arm/hand was a huge success, now have 80% loss of movement in the wrist, 75% loss of movement in the thumb, 20% loss of feeling in fingers, much better than it was. r what I do have. Bought a computerized wood carving machine as a business, now have to learn to run it and the software too. This will be my retirement business, retirement just came a few years early due to the accident, but I do have to stay busy. It's now 3 years since my accident, hand/arm is pretty much the same. I have taken up Bonsai as a hobby and enjoying it. My grandson is now 3 years old and a joy, my wifes daughter had a baby girl who is now 1 year old and also a joy. With the downturn in the economy, I have been looking for work, with no luck, just waiting till I'm 62 so that I can retire officially, I like retirement ! Update, have been retired five years now. Staying busy building stuff in my workshop which includes, machine shop,weld shop and woodworking shop, all paid for the settlement from my accident. Looking forward many years enjoying my workshop.
