Graduate of Minden High School class of 64. Attended LA TECH for two years, left school to join the US Navy to see the world, spent four years in Viet Nam. Left the service Returned to LA Tech till death of my Mother. Life then was a daze. Left school and went to work as an manager trainee for F. W. Woolworth. Made Manger and was running a store in Donalision Tenn.
Late 76 Approached by the US Navy (recalled). Seems I had an NEC (job code) that was needed, so back I went. Traveled all over and lived in five different countries, The UK (England) being my most favorite. Retired after 33 years service in Aransas Pass TX,
One nice thing I was able to do while in the navy was to finish my Education (College) and all paid for by the Navy, Got my BA in Vocational Education with minor in Computer Sciences. from SIU. After retirement I went in Business and Partnership with what I thought was my Friend. Built one of the most popular and best Internet Services on the Texas Gulf Central Coast. Major Owner (my partner) sold the business out from under me and ended up owing me money, but that is water under the bridge and lesson learned.
Duarning this time my love of sailing popped its head up again and I bought my Seafarer 31 ft sailing sloop. While doing all this sailing and having lost the business I new I needed something to get my mine off the loss, so I worked for a security company as a Lt. I was approached by West Marine and since I knew Boats I went to work for the Express store in Rockport. Upon the promotion of the current manager I was given the store to manage and not to brag, but did really well. West Marine was scheduled to close all their Express stores. So when I had a disagreement with the upper management of the company ....so I more or less told them where to go that the sun don't shine and I quite.
So here I am retired and now have gone on SS and really don't have to work due SS and Navy Retirement. Not Rich or wealthy by money wise. I live very comfortable due to investments and etc. I have a wonderful son and daughter and how four great grand children. They have begged me to come to Florida so Sold the old home packed up and moved to Jacksonville Fl. year and a half I'm back in Texas to overhaul and re-rig Gypsy Soul for Open water sailing/
Jacksonville Fl here I come then on to Where ever the wind blows me again. The UK is looking good as well as the south coast of France. Life is good. enjoying it for whats left. So as I said
