Richard's Story
I joined the AF right out of high school. I was initially stationed in Syracuse, NY for 3 years and then went to Tinker AFB in Okla City, OK to be a computer maint tech on AWACS. After several years there, the AF sent me back to school to get my engineering degree. I graduated from Oklahoma State Univ in Dec 88 and was commissioned as a Civil Engineering Officer in May 89. did some time in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and the UAE. The AF also sent be back to college two more times for Masters degrees. I finally retired in 2001 after 22 years in. I now am the Physical Plant Director for Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, OK. I get back to Erie at least once a year to visit family.
