Richard's Story
High school was fun and I didn't have a clue about life. I was that cool guy that most people didn't notice. I was popular with those who could relate to me and I was ok with that. I've always been easy going and I love to laugh. I don't get upset very easy, but when I do, watch out. I went into the Marines right after high school. Worked shipping and receiving while attending East Los Angeles College. In high school I received C's and D's. In college I received mostly A's and B's. I also attended DeVry and University of Phoenix. My major was Electronics and Telecomunications. (Digital technology and that sort of stuff) My career finally took off in 1990 when I was hired into the company that I am currently employed by.
I truly feel blessed when I think of how far I've come. I was like a diamond in the rough, and my wife polished me till I sparkled like the man I've become. The kind of man I've always wanted to be. It's all thanks to her for supporting and believing in ...Expand for more
me. It's fortunate for me that I met my wife and learned what it means to love someone. We went together for 8 years before geeting married in 85. This year we will celebrate 23 years of marriage. That's 31 years together and she still gets to me. She truly is my better half. It's amazing how time flys. We have 2 grown children that we're very proud of. A girl and boy, 21 and 18 respected. Amber will be graduating next year from college, and Aaron will be starting college this fall.
Some facts that many people don't know about, is that the graduation date on my high school diploma is the same date as my birthday, August 2nd. I was not able to graduate with my senior class in June of 77. I was ten credits short. I had to attend summer school in order to graduate and receive my diploma. August 2nd was the the last day of summer school in 1977. Because of this you will not see my senior picture in the school year book for 1977. I was not allowed to attend gradnight either.
