Rather than pursuing music, after North Central HS I went to Wabash College for a liberal arts degree, not knowing what I really wanted to do. fore completing my dissertation, I got interested in law enforcement and became a reserve deputy sheriff while working full time in university administration. After a year as a reserve deputy, I decided to become a full-time deputy sheriff and left USC with an ABD only. After a 28 year career with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, I retired in 2004 as a lieutenant and currently live contentedly in Valencia, CA with my wife, Suzie. We both like to read, exercise and attend theater, concerts and wine pairing dinners. Our major annual trips are to attend the World Figure Skating Championships and concurrently see different parts of the world.
